CASE STUDY

Novartis Ringaskiddy

Novartis Ringaskiddy is home to both the manufacturing site, Novartis Ringaskiddy Limited (NRL) and Novartis International Pharmaceutical Ltd, Branch Ireland (NIPBI) which is comprised of the International Services Laboratory, the External Supply Organisation, Supply Chain and administrative functions.

Employing approximately 600 people across the Ringaskiddy campus both NRL and NIPBI are important members of the Novartis global network. Operational since 1994, NRL is a manufacturer of intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients. The €850m facility includes manufacturing operations, quality control laboratories, warehouse, technical, IT and engineering services.

McWilliam windsocks supplied Novartis Ringaskiddy with windsocks and equipment which is required to fulfill it’s EPA licensing obligations. We have worked with Novartis Ringaskiddy since its facility was constructed. Our high visibility windsocks act as wind direction indicators for staff and emergency services. This becomes particularly important in the unlikely event that there is a hazardous materials release within the compound.

Our windsocks have a lifetime of up to four years at the Ringaskiddy site – much longer than other windsocks at other sites – according to Novartis staff who have worked elsewhere.
